does anyone know what the Summit Hbeam rods 6.125 in an 4.125 sleeved 6.0 aluminum block is good for HP wise? just looking for a ball park for current build. Putting a 2.9 on top with 12-15 lbs tops, not worried about it just curious if anyone has hit their limit?
Get the tune right and those rods will be just fine. Miss the tune and you’ll need a new set of rods and another block. ARP Pro head studs and spray the headgaskets.
Usually I would but the owner operator of Race Engine Development said no need for this build, only premium mulit-layer steel head gasket designed for GM LSA applications would be more than sufficient when paired with ARB studs. R.E.D.'s opened up the 6.0 alum block, installed with 4.125" Darton sleeves, filled with JE ceracote top pistons, 6.125" H rods, over forged stock stroke 3.622 K1 crank for just a tick under 388 cu in. this go round. Shooting for 15lbs max from whipple 2.9 for 800 at the crank on corn cuz this crapply Cali 91 wont cut it.

Steve is a friend of mine and has done several blocks for me. In fact, I have another block out there right now to be sleeved. Cometic gaskets are recommended on these blocks due to the RA of the deck surface after he finish decks them. Spraying the gasket with copper spray will only help the gasket “bite”, and help fight against the gasket being pushed around from boost. I spray all of mine, even my mild builds. Reason being is the LS platform only has 10 headbolts to hold the head in place per bank. Previous generations of the SBC had 17 headbolts per bank. Boost is hard on everything. The “to spray or not to spray” debate has been around for a while now. It’s your choice ultimately. You’ll have zero problems making 800 crank with 15 lbs. Lots of guys doing that N/A these days on the street.
