Metal in oil filter :(

Here’s some pics of the inside of the filter. This is a new engine on its 3rd oil change. It is a Texas speed 383 with AFR 230 heads if that helps at all. The engine has roughly 200 miles on it and I estimate this filter is about 100 of those. Car runs well and has 55psi cold start and 25-30 once warm. I’m worried because I didn’t chamfer my retainer plate for my rollmaster timing chain (must’ve got a old one bc no warning card). Let me know what you guys think about these specks/shavings

I mostly posted the bigger ones but there are small shavings in almost every pleat around the size of the third pic

A little bit of debris is normal when first breaking in an engine. You never know if a few small chips from machining made their way into an oil galley, especially if YOU weren't the one to wash the block. You should be concerned if the amount of metal increases over time, that can indicate a problem. Run it to 500 miles and check the filter again.

I agree with LS1F, and simply monitor oil pressure. There is certainly not enough debris there in your pics to warrant a tear down….at this juncture. Get it out and enjoy it.
