Default Crank oil plug

Looks like my crank oil plug moved back about a quarter inch while trying to get the pilot bearing out with grease. Does anyone know if this is a problem? I just don’t want it to potentially block the rear main journal oil hole but I can’t find any diagrams on the crank.

I think I have figured out that it is just oil splash and the cross drilling is not part of the opening. If anyone knows otherwise let me know. Thanks!

As long as it is still solidly within the crank, and not ready to fall out, you should be fine.

Don't try to use the grease method for removing the bearing on these cranks.

For the record, it has never worked for me on ANY engine; just made a mess.
