Default Ls turbo

Hi!

New to this engines..

​​​​Running an ls iron block with turbo and Johnson short travel lifters.
I'm planing to use 20w50 oil, .0027" bearing clarence on mains/rods.

1300hp drag car

What do you guys think about this setup?
i don't want to blow my engine apart 😅​​​​

Just make sure the rings have plenty of gap, and you'll be fine.

​​​​​​yeah, i have gaped the rings. i'm just not so sure about the oil choice.. is 20-50 to heavy or is it okey?

I believe Johnson states no oil heavier than 40w for their lifters, but I could be wrong. Also, a 10w on the low side seems to be much more popular for that bearing clearance.

So 10w40 should be good for my spec?

Yes, but more importantly, it hardly matters. Unless you run big bearing clearances with 0w or tight clearances with 60w, pretty much any modern off the shelf gasoline engine oil is going to be good enough. Most drag race engine oil gets changed so often you can always just change specs if you don't like what you first try.
