Default Need a lil help....

I have a 07 avalanche with a gen 4 that locked up...
I have a gen 3 I want to replace it with..
So I needed to know what all would I have to do to make this work...

My suggestion,, Sell the gen 3,, and buy a decent used Gen 4,, its just way easier..

Totally get it, but my experience is swaps are never as simple as they look. (Nor is home plumbing.... LOL)
if you can find a 07 engine, your talking 1 day to have the truck running.. With no tuning cost or wiring harness or ecu mysteries..

Basic you need to sort is it a 24 tooth sensor, throttle body, will the intake fit your motor, will the front furniture for the accessory drive fit your new block..
The amount of stuff thats different, if any can jump the price a ton..

crank and cam timing sensors are the obvious first thing to check.

Yes Tru, I'm just wanting to stay away from the dod, that's why my engine took a crap in the frist place....
went to ticking the oil pressure whent to 0 then over heated and locked up...

Probably less headache to rebuild the gen4 than swap in the gen3 when all the necessary changes are taken into account. You could easily do a DOD delete while it is out.

I agree 100%. DOD delete kits are your friend. Open up the hurt gen4 and see how bad it is. If the lifter bores are ok, it won’t cost much to get it going back on the road.
