Default Can the 823 springs be used with the chopacabra?

Hello friends! The question is simple, I was reading that the 823 heads come with .550 lift springs, is it true?

It's because I'm going to buy a Texas speed chopacabra camshaft and I have those springs saved and I want to save that money by not having to buy springs

Logical wisdom here would suggest that you spend the $100 on a new set of LS6 springs. You have no idea about the condition of those existing springs, and it’s not worth the risk, even if they will work with the new cam. Just my opinion, of course.

Agree. Valve springs are the unsung heroes of internal combustion engines.

I would contact Texas Speed and see what they recommend. No doubt they would want you to upgrade the springs.

On the TSP website, they recommend the LS6 springs for this camshaft also.
