99 LS1 over heated
99 ls1 cheap. It came with this story. It's from a camaro that obviously over heated. I pulled the head and had it milled. Very little carbon build up on pistons and appeared have very low miles. This project has been sitting for a year or so and of course the fuel was bad, less than 5 gallons. I should have drained it but I added another 5 gallons of fresh fuel, a few ounces of Sea Foam, and octane boost. Now that I'm driving it some it's smoking. It's a dark smoke and not caused from water vapor. Please tell me it's all the crap and bad fuel causing the smoke issue. Could it be an internal issue from extreme over heating?
Excessive fuel
Too rich
Could be the fuel
Try dumping a gallon of lacquer thinner in the tank, run it for maybe 15 - 20 minutes, shut it off, wait overnight for the LT to dissolve what it can (which is pretty damn much EVERYTHING gunky), go fill it up with premium in the morning, see what it does.
No guarantees: Skillet might have toasted the motor, and no amount of Rebuild In A Can will bring it back from the grave. Butt, it's worth a try.
