Default Solvent soak lifters and rockers?

I had a engine eat a set of mains (not horribly but not awsome) so there was glitter floating around where it shouldn't.

Should I break down the lifters (Cadillac Racing) and clean them or will a good solvent soak and oil soak do?

I broke down one lifter, the cavity looked clean but the "puck" had some poo on it. Never solvent soaked a lifter before so I don't know how well it works.

I would absolutely 100% take them all apart…one by one of course…and completely wash everything in a known new solvent, and then dry with compressed air to insure they are all devoid of debris. Tricky part here is parts are small, and small parts are hard to hold on to while using compressed air. Then soak in oil after cleaning for a day or so, or longer if you can.

You may be able to use Acetone in an eye dropper, or similar chemical, to load some into the oil inlet orifice. Then use a rubber tipped air nozzle on the same inlet orifice to force the gunk out. But I agree that taking them apart CAREFULLY is probably the best solution. You could try the method I suggested on a couple lifters and you'll quickly know whether or not they're plugged.

An ultrasonic cleaner using lacquer thinner, MEK, acetone, toluene, etc. would be best, after disassembly of course.

I wouldn't worry too much about "inspecting" them before cleaning and "deciding" what to do accordingly. Just do it. Make sure there's no debris left in them before re-using, to the best of your ability.
