Sounds like it would be a good combo - Cost varies though. Doing it yourself or paying a shop? I will say, with an automatic trans, the S60 is overkill. I have one in my Formula, but only because it's a manual. You can get into the 10's with a 7.5 10-bolt using an auto. You'd be looking at 450-460 at the wheels, probably - Maybe a bit more.

Sounds like ENTIRELY too much rear axle for the rest of the car. NOT ONLY will it $$$pend$$$ yyyyuuuuujjjjjjely, BUT ALSO, it will require far more power to turn than one that's less machinery, thereby slowing the car down.

Parts work best, mechanically and economically, when reasonably closely matched both to the application at hand and to each other. You don't need a 1200 HP rear axle in a car with an engine that makes 500 HP.

Mine came with an S60 when I bought it but the studs weren’t 3” and they didn’t even protrude enough through the race stars. And the car was tracked by the previous owner for a few passes with it like that…got some studs, problem solved.

For the cooling of the trans, you can get a single trucool 40k with no fan that would be more than enough. Hell a single hayden 679 would probably be enough.

Is the 4L60e already built and paid for?

Oh, so this car is already built. Is it yours or one you're looking to buy?
