11:1 compression nitrous 5.3! Well so far I have a 5.3 lm7 bored .030 over with a BTR N/A stage 3 camshaft, Fast LSXR intake manifold, 42lbs injectors, a summit 3.810 piston and rod kit, with a set of PRC 225 as cast heads. I’m looking at a 11:1 compression and was thinking I’d make somewhere about 450-480 WHP… I’d like to hit it with nitrous, but how much? Is it safe? What is safe? Some told me through a Facebook group I can throw a 200-300 shot safely others said go turbo. What are you guys opinions on this? Thank you in advance.
You can throw a LOT of N20 at these LS engines IF the tune is right. Make sure you know a great tuner with nitrous experience before you commit, or you’ll melt it down quick. They will hold it. Since your already at 11:1 comp, I’d lean toward nitrous if it were mine.

I have that exact same piston/rod combo, .030 over as well, but my compression calculation was only 10.5:1 with a 62 CC chamber and a .055 gasket utilizing a 3.950 gasket bore. Just curious what specs you used to obtain an 11:1 compression calculation. Are you having the heads milled?
