What to replace or reuse
Hey, I have a 230k mile 5.3 Lm7 out of a yukon and I'm wondering what all I should about the internals before I throw it in my drift car and start ripping it. I know I have to replace all the seals and definitely the oil pump too because it was reading low oil pressure when it was in the car, what what else should I be looking for while I crack it open? Any common weak spots? I was told that I could reuse factory pistons and connecting rods, but the mileage is pretty high and I'm not sure. Im mainly asking what I should replace before I put it in the car and hold it between 4000-6500 rpm for 20-30 seconds at a time lol. Thanks

If you have it all apart, I would do rings and bearings, then oil pump, timing chain, cam retainer plate/screws, lifters, plus do rocker trunnion kit (CHE recommended here).

Launching!
In addition to above post,
lifter trays
Valve springs
I would measure piston to bore clearance to see where you are at, also crank journal diameters.
