I just got the tool it's 9.5 turns to 0 lash so I just need to figure out the push rod length. And go from there. I've got oil up top now I changed with 10w40 looks good finally. Ty for your help

9 and 1/2 turns full turns from 6.8 =7.275 for zero lash. I would probably run a 7.350 pushrod. That would give about .075 preload. Puts you in the recommended .060-.100 preload range.

Well if you have the Comp 7702 tool and you're getting 9.5 turns out to reach zero lash. That's 0.05 x 9.5 + 6.8= 7.275 then your added preload of 0.080 and that comes to 7.355. What size pushrods do you have again? 7.4 correct? I don't think the pushrod is the issue here but hey you got oil up top so all is good.

We drove it like over 100 miles. That's what is weird. Idk definitely not a sbc
