Default 02 TA LS1 5.7 swap options

Trying to help someone who broke their ls1 block. Car: 2002 TA 5.7.

What is all involved with a truck 5.3 or a 6.0 swap of the same year? what would be best? straight forward?

He is almost 70 years old and just wants to get his pride and joy back on the road. Used ls1 are crazy expensive and can't find anything with low miles

Thanks

If using the same year engine then it's pretty straight forward. The truck blocks I think need a hole drilled for one of the accessory bolts and then need to swap the intake as well as the oil pan, pickup and windage tray from his current engine. Use everything from his stock engine and it should be pretty easy.

If the car is a 6 speed then it will also need a pilot bearing installed in the crank as well.
