So my 1998 trans am I have had for a few months. It’s been great and it has plenty of power. It runs flawlessly nothing on hp tuners can pick up any problems. The knock is loudest on my stethoscope around the back of the intake. I was listening around the bell housing of the trans and it seems almost as loud there if not just as loud. I know these intakes can pick up noises from wherever and amplify them.

I know the crank spins twice for every rotation so it shouldn’t be slow like that if it were bottom end.. (I think)

not a pulley
not the starter (where it seemed loudest at the bell housing)
flex plate isn’t cracked that I can see and I’ve checked the T/C bolts
i deleted the air injection system and put block off plates from ws6 store
i had exhaust redone from exhaust manifolds back. No cats and flowmaster fx mufflers (sounds great btw)

any noise I’ve listened to hasn’t even sounded close to my noise.

I can’t think of anything else of importance at the moment. Any help is appreciated and yes I’m pulling the valve covers soon it’s been raining for a week straight my yard is flooded and can’t get around to do it yet.

I don’t think it sounds like a lifter or rocker but I could be wrong.

the video attached wouldn’t let me make it longer. The noise can sometimes be heard louder depending on surroundings. Can be heard faintly in car but loudest in fender wells and under hood.
