Default Lingenfelter runner volumes!

A recent thread was discussing the controversy over large runner volume and power output. Lingenfelter, an industry leader appearantly is not intimidated by big port volume. Volume for the LS1 is 228cc intake and 84cc exhaust. Peak flow at .600 is 290 intake and 215 exhaust. Volume for the LS6 is 244cc intake and 84cc exhaust. Peak flow at .600 is 314 intake and 225 exhaust.

this is interesting info. thanks

one question though. what is the intended use of the lingenfelter heads? from what i have seen, they are designed for large CI motors and forced induction setups, where the large runner volume may not cause any problems.

the controversey in the other thread was because the heads were intended for stock CI, naturally aspirated motors, where a more efficient runner may be better suited.

once again, thanks for the info

The LS1 heads I'm sure are meant for stock CI motors. The LS6 heads I'm not quite sure since they told me they had stock valves. You'd think they'd put larger valves in for a big CI motor. These are the only heads I saw offered but I think they can be upgraded.

well when we were done porting and polishing my 5.7 heads we cc'd everything and got 69cc CC, 230cc intake and 85cc exhaust....we ended up milling to get a 64cc CC.
not those come with 2.05-1.60 valves and dual springs....
sounds like a lot of head for a baby cam huh! well the car feals awsome but i have ni dyno numbers yet! a couple more weeks and well see if i have to much HEAD?
