Default LM7 build, first LS swap attempt.

I picked up an LM7 over the weekend and now I want to build something fun but really don’t know where to start. I have a horsepower goal in mind (~550-600, maybe a little more) but that’s about it. I don’t really have a set budget or timeframe on completion and I’m open to suggestions/help figuring out what it’ll take to get it there. I did a lot of reading on here before I registered an account but still have a lot I need to learn.

What are you going to do with it?
Maybe just a TBSS (Trailblazer SS) intake manifold, a set of 243 heads with a bowl blend and multiangle valve job, and a good cam plus a decent exhaust will get you where you want. Won't cost much either compared to more sophisticated setups.
Or you could just find a good single turbo setup. But then you might need to gap the rings....

I just want to build something that’s fast enough for me. Not for racing but not a daily either. Basically just a toy that can be pulled out of the barn whenever I feel like driving it. I’d really like to stay away from boosting it if I can. I know my power goal probably seems a bit much for something like that but it’s the goal!
