This isn't an airport you don't have to announce your departure.

What I don't understand is the number of times I have seen questions asked that required typing out far more words than would have been needed to use a forum or google search. Then they wait for an answer from someone, when the aforementioned search would have instantly answered their question. I can understand laziness or being in a hurry as excuses, but in those cases neither of those excuses explain doing more work and waiting longer for an answer. I truly don't get it.

Outstanding post. Someone else gets it too.

That is how people work nowadays, it's all over facebook but they seem to be coming in here now too. It's called spoon feed me because I'm lazy and don't want to read things.

Like WHO? Everyone here tried to help you attack your problem. No smartassery, no one was a dick.
You got called out for not doing your homework on this.
You claim to frequent forums like this quite a bit. IF you had, you would know to do a little preliminary research before asking about LS6 pistons fitting in a 5.3L block.
That is straight out of LS Engine 101.
Don't be so thin-skinned.

Gary, I’ve asked you in the past to cool it with your responses. Yeah…you were being a DICK again here. This could have been handled totally different. This place is dying, there no question about that. It doesn’t need your help.

No gains because they don't fit. Wrong bore size

Like when asking about pistons, a little preliminary homework concerning bore sizes might seem relatable to the info desired.

Well now you have me trying to see where i was a dick. In all the quotes above yours, Merv and I tried to point out that while all of us are here to help, one must at least try to get their facts straight before asking technical questions. He claimed to be an old hand at forums. If so he would have been better prepared. Not knowing the diff between an LM7 and LS6 is expected of a newbie to the LS world, but he made it seem he'd been around this stuff more than a bit. So a little snarkiness was going to emerge as a result. But nothing as mean as some make it appear.

Guy been in this forum for 2 years, that's plenty of time to know the basic stuff if time was put into researching and reading. Valid statement I'll back it all day.

He didn't that's why guy checked out with excuses. No one was being a dick here guy got put in place.

Some of you all can be sympathetic and all that, I don't care. I manage the groups I do outside of here with these people on a daily basis. They are lazy people full of excuses and doesn't take much for them to check out when put on the spot.

Some of you need to get with the times of what's going on.

Folks come here for technical advise Gary. They don’t need you telling them to read up on it. Youve never been inside an LS engine…according to you. We have no idea here why you bother trying to answer questions.
Your first answer was ok. The second and third answer was uncalled for. If you don’t know the tech, STAY OUT of the conversation. You should stick with checking post dates and yelling at folks for not checking them…that’s where most of your posts come from anyway.
LS1Tech has sponsors that pay to be here. Guys like you run folks off. Sponsors get angry about that. Believe it or not, your name has come up in the admin section in the past. Cool it with the attitude.

I actually expect this from you Merv. Your avatar says it all. Get with the times? Stop looking at folks through your military glass, and see that they really want technical help, when they ask for it…not a bunch of scolding because your smarter than they are. It’s really easy.

OK, I apologize for pushing a bit too hard.
In my defense of my knowledge, while I haven't wrenched on an LS, I DO know what is inside of them, and most of the stats that go with them. And the focus here was on something fully within my wheelhouse. Bore sizes and displacements. Book knowledge covers that. I never discuss LS-specific assembly nuances, for obvious reasons. I leave that to you and others with like talents. Your machining knowledge never fails to impress me.
10 days ago, I actually was banned over a mistaken spamming accusation by KCS. I was reinstated the same morning, but never got an explanation about it. Nor an apology. It still bugs me.

We offer the pistons available (new) BUT I would personally highly recommend using a larger bore size like the ls1 in the 5.3 block.
the parts are the same price, the only cost difference is the machine work BUT you will gain substantial power and tq, which is always welcome!

Please let us know if we can help you with your project!

You've seen my posts here, I've posted more technical stuff levels beyond most because as mentioned some of us are doers. We've taken the time to share it and posted it in detailed posts so people can read it and learn. They just have to.. um... read it..

I like my avatar, been there since 2008 or so, before you were even here.

You do contradict yousrelf tho, might want to take this bit of bullshit out of your signature. Or atleast spell it right, then again is that me being "smarter"? It's spelled you're. Fix it hoss.

Here in North Ga, grammatical errors are the norm. I was never one for English class…😜
