Camshaft input
I have a CAM DYNAMIC CAMSHAFT 229/244 .615/.597 LSA 117 I cant find any information as to decide what stall converter to use. I have a turbo 400 and 373 gearing. If any one has any information it would be helpful.
Cam Motion has a similar cam called "Stealthy Stroker LS Camshaft (230/242-117+5) for Rectangle Port". They recommend a 2800-3600 stall. I'll add a link because there's more info that might help.

You dont need that much of a split duration on a TFS 215 cathedral head. The intake/exhaust ratio is superior to most heads out there. You will do better with something like a 232/234 cam vs a 229/244 cam.

That cam only has 2.5 degrees of overlap. It should have a fairly smooth idle. I would use a 3000-3200 stall for regular street use. If you want something more "racy", then you can always go higher. I just wouldn't go lower than 3k.
at least a 3000, possibly higher depending on if youre trying to get the most out of it at the track or just easy drivability, i would call Circle D, FTI or another well known converter manufacturer for their recommendation
Just to be clear for the OP, if you put in a cheapo 3000 stall, it will feel loose and be annoying to drive. If you put in a high quality 3600 stall, it will take off and drive almost the same as a factory converter in normal driving. There really is that much difference between the good companies and the generic cheap converters, and that is without even considering balance or longevity.

This is my first Ls build and it came in the car. Learning experience.
