Heads opinion
So for this price are the AFR enforcer 210 (or the summit version) better than the repaired 243’s?
it’s worth noting that the 243’s have a little damage to the CC but not a big deal. I’m just not sure how long this repair last.
basically it’s an exhaust bolt. It had been retapped by TRP and leaked water on the pressure test at heads up inc.
Anyway, the fix is to red lock tite a threaded rod in and drill and tap. I think that’s a temporary fix. What do you think?
For the price , im pretty sure im just I’m gonna get the summit heads but curious what yall think .
shop tested them all good one valve needs some lapping. I’m gonna have them cut the bowls and install new seals and springs to match the ss3 cam that I chose. Kinda wish I’d a gone with something diff etc but Elgin. Are in USA cam was only 260 shipped from speedway , good deal. Shoold get me to 400 wheel no problem and the loss of low end won’t matter much in a 3000lb car
As you found out, Easier to get another set of heads and move on.
The AFR Enforcer and Summit branded heads are a great value for some one that has nothing to start with. As you can see based on what the shop quoted you to repair the other set, It is easy to get upside down on a used set of heads.
