Default Crank bearing clearences

So I have a bratty basic 5.3 build I’m working on and a stock crank. I bought some Mahle MS-2199H bearings (race bearings compared to the p’s) for it and I torqued it down 15 then 80 degrees and it shows on almost all bearings .001 clearance I have read other threads that say at least .002 so I was just wondering what I could I do… if I don’t have to return them it would be nice. I would think about maybe getting the crank polished? But I’m kind of trying to get it done as quickly as possible.

any help is appreciated, thanks

Here to help. How are you measuring clearances here? Are you measuring all 5, or just one and assuming the other 4 are the same?

OP-I can appreciate you wanting to build the engine as quickly as possible. However, its been my experience thru the years that when certain things are rushed the odds of getting something wrong increase, sometimes substantially. Working late into the evening or night, especially after working at your day job all day for 8-10 hours can also lead to mistakes and even injury. Measure your bearings and journals 2 or 3 times, and be sure you're right. Then assemble once, and you'll have it right. Just my 2 cents.
