Default Looking for input on a LQ4/706 turbo build

Hey, I am looking for some input to make sure I am headed in the correct direction. The following is my current plan, if something seem wrong, please tell me what is not going to work. The build is going into a 85 Grand national with a built 4l60E and a 8.5 3.42 rear. The goal is 700ish, my transmission and rear end are limited to around that mark and I really am not sure I will ever utilize that much to be honest. I am not drag racing, this is a street build that I need more off the line power rather than top end. Thanks in advance for any positive input, it is appreciated!

Short block-LQ4-SBE
Heads 706-Non Castech
Cam-BTR Truck Norris kit-Is this a good cam for the application? From my research it seems to be.
TBSS/NBSS intake
Turbo 7875 billet wheel-not sure which brand yet
Hooker turbo manifolds
411 PCM
LS9 head gaskets
BTR Delphi ls7 lifters

4l60 isnt gonna last at that power level, and there are a lot better cam choices than a truck cam

Thanks for the response, I am curious on your cam recommendations? The 4l60E is a performabuilt level 2 good for 700hp, so I think it will be fine with it. The owner told me it should be good past that even, they warranty them, so I would tend to take his word or he is the one paying to fix it.

Seems like a solid layout to me. I do wonder if that intake will fit under the Regals hood. In my experience with automatic trans builds…which is very little to be honest…I’ve seen that the 4l60 isn’t worried about power levels as much as it is rpm, even while being very well built…which makes that truck cam look even better to me personally.

Yeah your train of thought is correct, like another guy said though, you can do better with the cam choice….save some money and get a summit $299 cam…..btr is over rated……but your pile of parts should play well with eachother!!!

almost all of the 4l60 that are built to XYZ hp, fail below that on a sticky tire, if youre only ever gonna run street tires, sure

I had almost same setup in a subaru i swapped

Lq4 with 706
7875 vs billet turbo t4
Truck norris cam
Except I had a tremec magnum

Boost hit violently and drives good with nice idle sound(if youre into that sorta thing)

I have the almost the same build in another subaru except this one is 5.3 also with a truck norris cam. I have a forged motor I am getting ready to put in it and as much as I have enjoyed this cam alot of people have recommended me use a different cam saying the combo would work better.

So I took their advice and went with a summit cam 8715 to try this time. I was goin to change my turbo setup while I was at it but im gonna leave all else the same so I can see the difference.
