Default Felpro engine gasket set?

I feel like I’m chasing my tail trying to find all of the right gaskets that are also good quality without breaking the bank. Has anyone ever used the full Felpro engine gasket kit on an ls1 rebuild? Is it worth it?

I have used all those gaskets many times without issues. The valve covers gaskets are usually the worst part. Sometimes they fit fine and other times they are a bit small and want pull out of the cover from being stretched

That being said I usually use gm or mahle gaskets as i think they are better quality

And the felpro exhaust gaskets aren't MLS in many kits

Just an FYI, Fel Pro sold a out 2yrs ago or so. I have buddies who build other stuff like Hemi's, Honda's and such. Have been hearing stories for last few months that the Fel Pro front seals are small in dia and are spinning in the cover in different applications. This is all from guys who know how to build and all went with respective factory seals and no issue after. I would try a different brand on the main seals, but should be ok on everything else.

I’ve been using the BTR gasket sets for a couple years now. I can’t tell the difference from OEM. I buy my headgaskets separately from Cometic for each individual setup spec fwiw.

100%. I've built two engines in the last couple of years with ALL BTR gaskets and there hasn't been a single issue. And the price is great.

Selling out.....The bane of modern engine building. What were once top quality aftermarket parts may no longer be, due to new ownership/management. I hope Wix filters are still made with the same quality. Fel Pro was a good quality gasket brand. Are they still? IDK....
