LS6 cam question
Comp Cam
.581 intake
.612 exhaust
220 intake
244 exhaust
116 LSA 0 0
Just curious how this would do in a LS6 the exhaust duration and wide lsa makes me scratch my head !
For most situations it'll be TERRIBLE. It's probably for a GINORMOUS shot of nitrous on an otherwise mostly stock motor, particularly with a poor-flowing exhaust. A "street sleeper" kind of deal maybe. In any other situation it's not A Good Idea. Too much exh duration to begin with, and with that SUUUUUUPER WIDE LSA, the exh valve will be opening about halfway through the power stroke, giving away MASSIVE amounts of torque and HP, if it's not needed by the requirement of clearing the cyls of the effects of the oxygen/fuel overload.
Best to advise your "buddy" (one of your other personalities?) to let it pass on to The Greater Fool. Trust me, s/he is out there, with a pocketful of money, just ITCHING to make a mistake and buy this ... thing. Might take awhile to find em though.
All we have left is a cam.I'd suggest putting it on your shelf in a cam box, clearly marked, so that whenever The Greater Fool comes along, you'll be ready.
