Default How big of a difference is a solid cam on a LS1

i was just wondering how much HP can a soild cam gain on a LS1 motor. when i used run my old SBC, i remember that when i put in my first solid cam i lost like half a second in ET . considering that LS1s have ramp acceleration rates close to BBCs, i would figure that the only gain would be the fact that you could get a bigger cam then what is normaly offered by hydrolic grinds.

anyone?

I thought the main advantages to a solid roller setup were a more solid valvetrain at higher rpm, and more aggressive ramp rate cams, which would mean more flow but I don't think thats the main issue?

also you dont have to worry about preload but the main thing i was wondering was mainly a HP gain or ET lost on average.

I think the main advantage would be higher rpm due to stiffer valvesprings without colllapsing the lifter, also ability to go more radical on duration and lift.
