valve clearance?
Is anyone running anything like the following. I'm wondering if there will be any valve clearance problems?
Z06 heads with 11-1 CR
228/228 588/571 112 0 adv.
2.02/1.57 valves

Joe is that .035" - .040" milled to arrive at 11:1 CR?
FWIW -> My heads are milled .055" with 2.02 and 1.57 valves. Cam - 239/251, .570" and 106 lsa, 106 icl ( I degreed it in). Using the thicker (.060" ?) 2002-4 headgasket I have .080" and .100" clearance int/exh (I clayed them).
The valve pockets are .080" and .100" int/exh - so theoretically they would have just touched the pistons without the pockets.
Hmmmmm - makes me wonder what they were thinking when they specd my cam.

My heads have been worked so I'm assuming the CR is around 10.6 right now unless the chambers were opened some. Based on the CC chart I will need to get to 60.66 CC's. That's 2.95 from where I believe they are now. If .005 = 1 CC then they would have to be milled about .015. Sound right? Of course when the heads are done the chambers will be CC'd and when I install them the valves will be clayed. But with 0 advance I don't think that notching will be needed, but I want to be prepared since I don't own a notching tool. I also have the 7.4 pushrods and the change is so slight I think they will be fine also. We will see. I want to be ready so the cars not sitting waiting for parts.

According to AS, with milled LS6 heads (.030"), the biggest cam you can install is a 224/224 on 112 LSA + 4. Your cam is probably too big (even w/ 0 advance), and will have piston-to-valve contact.
