Default Does a cam need to be broken in?

I want to swap my cam, pushrods and retainers but am unsure if it needs to be broken in after or can you just start tuning it on the dyno? Just curious.
Thanks,
Joe

What about your springs.....depending on how agressive your cam will be you will need to change your springs. Most people r using 918's from comp cams they are a single spring set up. if you go with a dual spring you will need to have the seats worked....
You will need to break in the new cam/springs
go to ls1howto.com and follow jmx's procedure...its pretty simple <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

You can, but I like the idea of putting the valve springs through a few heat cycles, it's not the cam you have to worry about it's the valvesprings.

Why not consider using the rev 1116 dual springs?

Joe, The weak link seems to be the valve springs some chose.

Oops. I plan on replacing the springs as well.

Any other advice? I'd imagine tuning on a dyno would be ok since I doubt most tuners put 500 miles on their customers cars before tuning.

Thanks,
Joe
