Default Preload question/valve train geometry question

Hey guys

I just pulled my lifters 43,000 miles and noticed they had some nice scuffing on the sides. I was wondering if I have correct valve train geometry. This setup always made a decent amount of valvetrain noise but I was trying to not have preload. The car ran great and made great hp/tq #`s
My setup is as follows

6.0 heads milled .40
mti r1 cam .30 smaller base circle than stock ?
7.35 pushrods

Now I am wondering if I Should I be running the 7.4 length pushrod? Am I giving up lift with my setup?

Also what is my current compression ratio with these heads

thanks

First you have only reduced preload by .025" THIS IS MINIMAL I have less preload than you with no problems. Second this doesnt affect geometry, you would have to move rocker arm to valve stem tip relationship to affect geometry. Lifter scuffing has to do with higher lift cam and higher spring tensions, i would consider some scuffing normal. Your compression depending on head gasket specs should be around 10.3 to1.
