550 RWHP is a lot, I wouldnt go anymore then that. I guess its either SC or Turbocharged. I dont think N20 could give you that much of a power increase from stock

I've heard they like to let go around a little over 500 horses. I wouldn't quote on that. I also don't know what that was based on. It was passed around info. I know alot of the dirt trackers, due to cost reasons, have done some amazing things with stock components. You can prep the parts to make them more durable. Then again, how long are you going to subject an engine to its' peak power in it's peak range? You could blue print a stock engine and squeeze more durability from it.

40,000 miles on 98 C5 since it got the heads/cam/etc and the 200 shot nitrous

It makes 550 rwhp. Over 80 bottles through it, and tons of passes. stock bottom end.

I used to have an acquaintance that has a 99' WS6 with well over 100,000 miles on his stock motor. He's even using a 100shot of nitrous and he also puts about 90 miles a day on the odometer for commuting to work. He's not had any problems and compression is good in all cylinders.

The 302 stock blocks used in the ford 5.0 world run to about 500HP before they split in half down the lifter valley.

This guy is asking at what power level does a LS1 block split or break.

Incredible engine, I am picking up a built 346 from Speed Inc Sat. When I was researching what people had to say, 500 at the fly wheel was the safe #. But then you have guys like One bad ws6 that drive em like they hate em and the engine takes it. Cartek 2X package is putting out some crazy numbers and things seem to be going well. The weak link are the rod bolts, springs, and the hyper-eutecktic (sp) piston. Do your homework.

Thanks alot guys, I'm getting the picture. I'm just trying to get some ground rules set. I hate finding things like that out the hard way. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />
