Question TSP cam specs missing??

I recently purchased a TSP 225/225 .589/.589 112 cam and noticed it has no markings whatsoever on it and didn't include a spec card. Is this normal from them?

all aftermarket cams should come with a card and markings on them. maybe they made a mistake. i would call them about it tommorrow for sure.

Thanks for the info guys. I wasn't planning on installing it for another month anyway, so I have time. Maybe they will pay for Thunder to doctor it instead of shipping it back, since I pass them on the way to work everyday.

The cam dr broke about 2 weeks after we bought it and the company we bought it from doesn't really care now that they have their $. So while we could still put it on the machine, the specs that it would spit out would be way off.

I'll ask and see if there is any 225 cam cards around though.

I would make sure that it was the right cam sence it has no marks. Not to bash on tsp sence i cam going to get my next cam from them but we all are human we can make mistakes. Now it would be cool if they sent you a huge nasty cam but you would break all you springs in a week or so, if it was the new V??? something cam.

Hmmm...let's see. I can mic the lobes and multiply by 1.7 for the lift. If I get a protractor, a piece of string and a hamster, figuring out the duration shouldn't be to difficult. How do you get the LSA spec again? Where is that jrp "Cam How To" document when I need it.

Most of them are ground unmarked as requested, and the ones that are marked will have the numbers on the rear ground off (some new ones will have TSP "XXX" engraved instead though, so the end user can keep track too) We have 3 main camshaft manufacturers and the 225 camshafts are pretty easy to distinguish when we get them in as each camshaft designation comes separate from the other TSP grinds.

So, can you give me a few distinguishable marks or characteristics to look for on this cam to see if it seems like a 225 to you?

Jason at TSP is a cool guy. Just got off the phone with him discussing the missing spec card on my new cam. He is sending out to pick it up, spec it and ship it back for free. He is also giving me a great deal on some Harland Sharp rockers and free shipping.

TSP!

My 225 cam was the same way, no markings or spec card. Cam went in anyway though, seems to be the right one. Can I get a spec card or something?

Man, you guys are searching for info. Nice to see that. Give TSP a call, they will make good on it. I wanted to make sure I had what I purchased. I wouldn't assume anything. Who are you going to blame if it's wrong and you bend some valves? Another thing, it will be a lot easier to sell in the future if you have the cam card.
