Default measureing valves??

How do you properly measure the size of valves? I have been trying to measure what i thought was a 2.08 valve but the covertion isnt coming out right. Is it just the outside diameter? The diameter of the valve i think is a 2.08 is 2 and a little more than 2/64th's...am i measureing wrong?

That comes out to about 2.031?????I"d say a 2.02?You need some calibers that measure more precisely.

A ruler is most likely not gonna give you accurate results. I mean... 5 one hundreths of an inch. Qutie possible its instrument or human error.
