The lower the LSA, the chopier the idle, and the lower the power band moves. Stock cam's LSA is something like a 119. Most A4 guys try to stick it out in the 114 range because of the auto. You M6 guys seem to like the 112's a lot. In general, the higher the LSA, the more even tempered the cam. The lower the LSA, the meaner the cam. Similar power in the end, it's just a personality thing for the most part.

while at tsp i asked about a cam they recomended the 231/237 to me after i brought up i wanted it to lope. what would the 231/237 do for my setup (check sig)? my car must remain a daily driver as its all i have for the time being. I need something that will give me back some of the low end torque i lost going with the 3" duals. I love my duals BTW.

Damn, i'd love to hear this cam on a 110. Have fun tuning her. Will be interesting Jason would LOVE that. A whole bunch of people run this cam daily drive. SouthFl02SS runs this cam, so did gomer, just to name two better known members you might run across. It can definitely be put in a daily drive. It will be in mine. I'll be runnin true duals as well, al a TSP most likely. thanks to jason being willing to work with me. This cam used to be called a max-effort cam. It still is a max-effort cam, if you want to be able to mill your heads to bump up compression. Won't run into PtV clearance issues with this cam. Also runs softer lobe profiles so isn't homicidal on the springs.

And no....I'm not biased at all about this cam. Especially not b/c I chose it myself. LOL.

yeah definately.i called chuck@HPE today and he actually recommended his "S" cam 238/242 3500-6500....he said this is an awesme cam, especially in an M6....he said they threw down 422rwhp in an all-stock '98 cam-only swap!! thats crazy...also its on a 115lsa for easy wear on springs and good idle quality.im torn between these two!!!! this sucks...im gonna call jason@TSP tomorrow.

LOL. Sounds like you have a whole bunch of choices now. Hit Jason up. After that, talk to Allan over at Futral. By then, you'll have talked to enough people to where you should have a pretty good idea what you want. If you're not lookin to replace springs constantly, then keep that in mind. Softer/less extreme lobes will help achieve that generally. I want my power to kick in a little lower then 3500, just b/c I spend more time racing on the streets then I do on the track.
