New short block break in?

I'm getting the motor put together this week, and plan on dyno tuning right after it's done. Bad idea?

Yes, I would at least drive it around for 500-1000 miles before you start romping it, so you give the rings a chance to seat....this is what I plan to do when I do my motor coming up soon...
