Default squeeky sound coming from valve train

before my cam install i had this issue too. When i would rev the motor up, starting aroudn 1500 rpms id start to get this squeek which would continue till i got to around 2800 rpms, then you can't hear it. Then when you let up off the gas its a really bad squeek.

I just had a cam swap done yesterday. 224/228 .563/.574 114lsa, new springs, retainers, pushrods and all the other goodies. Which originally I was thinking it was a stock spring but that wasn't the case. stock springs were in great condition, stock push rods were in great condition as well. rocker arms felt solid, and i had someone who knew what they were doing check them (who also did the install), and we couldn't find anything the matter with this stuff.

So am i getting a sticky or collapsed lifter? there seems to be no power loss. I definately could use a tune with the cam though but she's running pretty damn well, idles right where it did before, but takes a few moments to find it. but once she warms up a bit. ZOOM i love it! just this squeek is irritating and i dont want to have this new found power then bust the car cause i can't figure out whats wrong.

any ideas?

ttt need some opinions...does the oil pump make noise before it goes?

I just had that happen last week on my '99 6.0......I was a quart low on oil after an oil change, after I added the quart it went away

just did an oil change, no where near low. thanks for the advice...its a start to the trouble shooting though.

i did today notice i have an exhaust leak coming out of my AIR connection since i did my Air plate restrictor mod. could an exhaust leak make this sound and echo off the valve covers?

If it's not an exhaust leak or a bad rocker arm, it's gonna be a bad lifter. Been there, done that. Look for some tell tale tracking marks on the old cam lobes.
