i cant get mine high enough to do it out the bottom and i barely can get it up high enough to get the headers off, i just thought about that and to put the trans and motor in together from the top take the crank pully off, i left mine in and it kinda got in the way but still got it in there, just i had to get under the car and finagle the motor to fit whiile someone else let it up and down with the lift , o and i have to pull them and the same time becuase my motor wont turn over and i wont be able to unhood the stall from the flexwheel, i took some pics of my car and ill post the horific results
damn, i didnt know you could pull it out with the hood still on
i would type a bunch of cuss words, but i'll hold back
i pulled my hood off to get the motor out, set it on the ground in the yard, and someone RAN over it
thats just my luck

How many of you that go out the bottom don't use a lift? I've gone through the top before but I would like to try the bottom next time. How easy is it with only an engine hoist?
We pulled mine out bout 2 months ago with all the accesories off and tranny disconnected. Bell housing was still on and Hood sat in place... just bolted off one motor mount from the k-member and turned it .....she slid right out no worries...
I just yanked mine out the other day. I took the AC off, Alt. manifold and tranny. Pulled right from the top with heads, waterpump and pulley on. Its a tight aqueeze with the hood on, but it'll come out without scratching anything. I just put a piece of cardboard where radiator support is so the oil pan wont scratch it when your sliding it out.

Damn, Dude...That IS some bad luck right there!
