Maybe what he meant to write was that he drilled out the hole 24mm deep. The pin is what 3.8"? Going an inch into the crank, I would think he would stike oil. Sort of like Jed Clampet.

Must have used that home depot 24mm drill bit with a 1/4" shank on it.

Pure BS

Did he say he DRILLED the 24mm hole?

Maybe he cracked the snout and left a 24mm gap or something... I don't know... I'm slow with the BS flag.

Default i have all sorts of bits

i have a bit in every size up to 32mm and 1 1/4". nice to have in a machine shop. i just built my shop about 6 months ago behind my house and now find myself in there more than in my house. sort of a hobby house i guess. i took some courses at the community college in town and learned the basics and i do a lot of CNC work there too. if anyone has any questions, let me know. i love working on toys. that's pretty much all i do now....

Well, since you are the builder and you did mess up, you owe yourself a lot of money, why not call it even?
