Stock heads/cam right now. Will probably do a 23x/23x cam in the next year or so.

 

I would see no problem with using a new set of the GM lifters.

 

Morels. More money now but for the long haul the best choice.

I'm running Comp R lifters in my 408 w/ trex and they seem to be fine, although one of them is a little noisy but that was my fault.

 

Unless you need to replace them ie. something broke, the stock lifters are fine.

 

The stock lifters are very good and are more forgiving when it comes to preload.

 

If you have the money, these are the way to go, but at $500 a set, there alot more expensive than the others. Other than that, stock would work fine for that combo.

So those are definitely out of the question. I can get my hands on some with 40k in a toasted motor but I'm not real crazy about that idea.

So the new question is... Comp or Crane OEM lifters?

 

Check out Ariel Perfomance. They have GM OEM lifters for less than $150 new.

 

comp 850's here. bought them during a TR sale for 179. normal price is still under 200.
