#5 are the bolts that go to the coolant crossover tube that runs across to each head.

Unless that is the photos again, but Royal Purple is one of the only oils that stain the parts dark like that Castrol Does is a little to has something to do with the additives? I was just guessing cause of the darker color could be just the fact that you car is a 98 and has a few more miles on it that I am used to seeing. Sounds like you have the hard parts done Good luck if you ever want to pull the motor from the botom let me know I've patened that method.
99Z28vert & Fastone- Yeah I have done a few and I am a fanatic about having things look factory. The right bolts in the right places etc... I always look at the details on the install jobs that people do.

pimpmaro - The reason I have so many valve cover bolts is because it's a 98. 99+ cars have a different style valve cover (center bolts).
Smoke T/A I thought the same, but there are five and there are only four on these cars. The same bolts are used to hole the little niple on the side of the oil panbut again there is only 2. I thought maybe a combination etc.
