And yeah... the missing water pump bolt is the shorty.

#5 are the bolts that go to the coolant crossover tube that runs across to each head.

Sounds like you have the hard parts done Good luck if you ever want to pull the motor from the botom let me know I've patened that method.

99Z28vert & Fastone- Yeah I have done a few and I am a fanatic about having things look factory. The right bolts in the right places etc... I always look at the details on the install jobs that people do.
I gotcha now... I actually use Amsoil, the previous owner may have used RP in the past but I know he was using Amsoil as well when I got the car. Not sure if it stains them the same or not. As for looking at the details that is great. I am pretty detailed as well but I was told "The bolts will only go where they're supposed to" when I started this project. So I didn't pay a lot of attention. Luckily it hasnt' been to hard to figure out what goes where.

pimpmaro - The reason I have so many valve cover bolts is because it's a 98. 99+ cars have a different style valve cover (center bolts).

Smoke T/A I thought the same, but there are five and there are only four on these cars. The same bolts are used to hole the little niple on the side of the oil panbut again there is only 2. I thought maybe a combination etc.

Ah the washer. That one stumped me for some reason I think of them having a stud with a nut as the old style did.
