Default Shops local to Dallas, that do head work

I am porting my own set of 241's and need someone to do the valve job and mill work. I have gotten a quote from one company. Their price seems a bit steep. Anyways, does anybody know a good place in Dallas to use?

Thanks

Brandon

My local machine shop I use, Northport Machine, charges $100 for seat work and $50 to resurface. What kind of prices have they quoted ya? BTW, i just posted a thread about home porters, might get some useful feed back from other members in there.

Total price quoted was about $275, IF I delivered unassembled. Assembled would be $550. I wonder if you know what shop I that price was from. They arent knows for being an LS1 shop. More for doing high dollar Chevy big blocks. Do you have contact info for Kim in Garland? That is where I work.

Thanks

Brandon

They said $61 per head for a standard 3 angle and $39 per head for the milling. Do you know anyone personally that has had an LS1 head serviced there? For that price, I might give them a try. Not to mention they said 2-3 days for turn around. The other place said 3 weeks.

Thanks

well Steve is the owner I have used them and would again, fairly price, and they do amazing work from all my experiances with them. I have had buddies with non ls1 engines that have been built there and they have been pushing tons of power through them without problem. I was there once and they had some nascar heads there they were working on. So if those guys trust them I guess I can too

keith craft has been doing ford stuff for years, they dont specialize in ls1's. they offer parts for them and are getting into them but I wouldnt say they specialize in them. jay johnson helped them get into the ls1 market and then he didnt stay all that long
