Default Could this be the oil pump going out?

Ok so at first the car was stuttering and oil pressure was fluttering. Replaced the o2 sensor.. car runs great. No stuttering BUT.. at idle.. the oil pressure still flutters. Never drops below the middle line but it holds normal while driving. A friend mentioned something about back flow maybe? Now today I noticed that while I was driving, if I tapped the brakes or started slowing down for a stop, the needle really flutters hard. What in the hell is causing this?? Could this be a sign of bad things to come? remember, I keep normal pressure no flutter when I'm giving it gas. Should I just replace the pump to be on the safe side? (oh yeah and the levels are normal and I just changed the oil about 300 miles ago and it still does it)

99 TA boltons.

Thanks!
Trista

I am having the EXACT same problem. A few months ago I brought it to my mechanic and they replaced the oil sending unit. It seemed to help a little but after a while it is still doing it. They told me everything is fine and the next thing to look at would be the instrument cluster. I could use some help on this subject as well. Good luck.

I've heard it's normal... does using the A/C increase it?

I'll have to see. My car is running great. Everything looks And sound fine. Fluids looks fine on oil changes. Hopefully its nothing to worry about.
