Matching balanced pieces
Both sets of bearings are King Bearing High Performance Alecular bearings.
Mains: MB5013HP
Rod: CR 848HP STD (LB-663)
I know it is necessary, but the kit's tolerances are so repeatable that it was almost not worth purchasing all the tools, I should have just went with plastigauge
The kit was internally balanced at Lunati and I am wondering how important it is to match up rods with pistons, weight wise that is.
I have the following:
Rods (R1~R8) Recipricating weight (grams) / Rotating weight / Total Weight:
R2 179 / 446 / 625
R3 180 / 444 / 624
R4 179 / 445 / 624
R5 180 / 444 / 624
R6 177 / 443 / 620
R7 178 / 442 / 620
R8 179 / 447 / 626
P2 395.7
P3 395.3
P4 395.3
P5 395.2
P6 395.2
P7 395.2
P8 395.2
Internal Balance: Bob Weight 1708 gms
Step 1: Cwts work,
Add 2 - 1" / 7/8 Front
Add 1 - 1" / 1 - 3/4 / 1 - 1/2 Rear
Step 2
Flange: 08 deg @ 20 gms
(Drill to finish)
Step 3 & Finished Balance

Flange: __deg@00gms
So how important is it to match up the rods and pistons based on weight?
Thanks,
David
