Default Cam Chain Dampener Help

I ordered the 04 LS1 Cam Chain Dampener (part 12588670) for my 02 Vette engine. The bolt hole centers are spaced at under two inches on this part, while on my 02 block, the mounting holes are a little over two inches apart. Did GM change the hole spacing from year 02 to 04, or did I receive a wrong part?. It came form GMPartsDirect in an unmarked package. (This part was $8.00 while the GM High Performance dampener was more like a $100). But it needs to fit to do me any good. Does anyone have an 04 part they could measure?

Thanks

Thanks Kurt;

So GM did alter the hole spacing, that was the info I was seeking. Installing the dampener for $8.00 is a no brainer, gotta think about it for $100.
