i wouldnt go with either of those cams myself, especially with a 3k TC. my choice would be a 216/220, 220/220, B1, T1, 218/220, ect.

better questin is what are the rest of your mods and what type of powerband are you looking for.

well then you can definately cross off cam 2.

keep in mind you have small engine, heavy truck, and small stall, and practically no mods. you have to work in those perameters.

im sure you've consulted w/ the truck guys, yes?

I like jrp's suggestion of the 216/220 for the 5.3. If you may even want to consider the 212/218 LS6 replacement cam. Either cam likes the juice and will work well with the 3000 stall.

You need headers before the cam. Think headers first.

He owned a tuning shop, that was rwhp, he had over 118 dyno pulls on the truck, and i know that it was a cam air intake and an exhaust cutout. i know that for a fact. it was pretty ridiculous. im looking for a powerband up to 6800,6500 at the bottom 2000,2500.

so he gained near 100rwhp with a cam, air intake, and cutout, through a 4l60e

where are you willing to compromise. i hear " i want, i want, i want..." but somethings got to give with what your giving yourself to work with.

Those cams are way too big,Go with say 210 and 218 on a 114 lda it"ll be better with or without spray in a heavy truck and smaller motor!Talk to Marc,W in the truck section.Or some of the other truck guys.
