my 04 gto has some sort of sludge in the engine i have an 04 gto with a hc package. two weeks ago i started it in the morning and the lifters would not pump up until 3 minutes later after the motor got to temp. so i figured my high spring pressure colapsed the lifters so i decided to pull the heads and replaced the lifters. when i pulled out the lifters i opened one up an found a black tar like substance inside next i pulled the oil filter and had same stuff inside. does any one know if a leaking head gasket would cause this because every couple weeks i have been adding coolant? my car has 7000 miles on it and i change oil 3000 mobile 1
