Default TEA Stage 3 AFR’s

I don’t see my heads ever coming from Absolute Speed so I’m looking into some others.

Can we talk for a second about the Stage 3 AFR’s from TEA. These heads have some very impressive flow numbers I assume they retain a fairly small intake port volume. I haven’t talked with TEA yet because they aren’t open yet, just wanted to get some opinions on these heads.

How many others have gotten decently higher flow numbers from the AFR’s?

Here are the flow numbers from the TEA

TEA AFR Stage 3 LS1
Lift Intake Exhaust
.100" 68.1 55.1
.200" 141.2 123.9
.300" 207.5 187.1
.400" 261.6 241.1
.500" 304.6 268.3
.550" 323.4 275.4
.600" 341.2 277.8
.700" 346.0 282.2

From what I've saw myself here is my opinion on the AFR heads. They are an aftermarket head that has a lot of good things going for them. They have a thicker deck surface which in certain applications will keep the head on the block and stop the head from the "lifting" issues a lot of people use to experience in forced induction applications and even some nitrous cars were having this problem too. Also these heads seem to not have the same issues with stalling that some LS1 heads have. The chambers are what I would account for this. I will say that these heads are the best on the market bar none. That's my opinion and not only because of me working there, but because they are proven to make good power. If you're serious about a set of heads then give Brian Tooley a call at the shop. I'm in college and I'm not around the shop hardly at all these days, but he would be more than happy to assist you in your current setup and plans for the future.

I have a set of these heads, and im very impressed with the flow numbers and quality. The car is getting dyno tuned today so we'll see how they perform.
