Default Truck cam question

Haven't been able to get a straight answer in the truck forum, so I turn to you guys!

I want to put a cam in my truck with the setup seen in my signature. I will also be adding E-fans and getting a dyno tune. I know that I will need to at least change valvesprings, what else?

What would be a good cam from Comp, Thunder, Texas Speed, etc? Remember, for a heavy truck (RCSB) running a juiced 4.8. I don't mind driveability issues, as I walk to work. I want something with a noticeable idle (read 112 LSA ).

I originally thought of this Thunder Racing cam, but I'm no good at this Gen III stuff :

224/227 Duration (.050 I assume)
.563/.569 Lift
114 LSA

I appreciate any and all responses. Everyone's ideas will help me decide. Thanks!

i'd try something like a 212/218, XE lobes on a 112... the stock cam is about 190-.450-114, (not sure on lift)... u don't wanna go too big on the cam with that small 4.8, remember the cam will seem bigger since the engine is smaller...

I'd agree with someday. You sound like you don't use the truck for towing adn already have a stall. You could go a little larger, but it will lose power on the bottom end. I wouldn't go larger than a thunder 220 though.

Oh yeah, sorry. No I don't tow, I have a 85 GMC for that .

Has anyone had any experience with Texas Speed & Performance Cams?

I would really prefer a 112 LSA because naturally I wanna hear it. ALthough, I don't want it to be all bark and no bite. I'm guessing the one I had picked would kill me huh?

With my nitrous in mind, should I go single or dual pattern?

Thanks
