Default Need Input: MTI 2E/Stealth Combo

Preferably regarding the Stealth II cam, but this is a combo I'm seriously looking into as I want heads and cam, but dont want to do anything radical at all. For those of you with this combo, judging by my description, is this a combo that would suit me well? What kind of ETs are you running, what is your race weight, and where are you shifting at?

I dont care whether I have a ton of lope or not, and my car isn't a max effort car. I just want something that will give me a good boost in power over the stock stuff, maintain perfect road manners, and shave some time off of my ET at the track. The car also includes or will include the following...

Suncoast cold air (ram air) intake
LS6 intake (not on the car yet)
Pacesetter longtubes (not yet, maybe Kooks if they'll make more power)
Hooker catback, might possibly install a cutout as well, but not currently one
Built 4L60E, currently TCS 3200/2.5 stall, going to change to a Vigilante 3600
3.73 gears are going in over the winter as well as tuning via HPTuners

Suspension is pretty much setup (QA1 front, QA1 & BMR rear) and I run on Kumhos on the street and BFGs on the track. The car went 13.26 with the Suncoast intake and a cutout on street tires, now I've got the stall and the Hooker catback as well as drag radials to run on. My goals for the car are to hopefully get into the 11s, but at least be able to run low 12s even on a hot and humid summer day and have great reliability and driveability.

Thanks a ton for any help. This is a big decision ($2,000 is alot of money) and I want to make sure it's the right one.

I just bought their 2e heads "6.0"L For my forced induction set up But they look great. Havent got them in the car yet to see how they perform but my first impression was good. I dont have the cam you looking at but my 224 from thunder wasent as bad as i thought. I was concered like you when i bought it but is pretty smooth so you might want to go alittle bigger with a 114- 115lsa. Also I have the kooks lts and hooker cat back the combo is great, sounds like a beast at wot. If you have the extra $$ get the kooks. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the input. My deal with the headers if that if the Kooks are only going to make a few more RWHP tops, and their only redeming benefit is the stainless, then I dont see a point in paying double the price. I only drive the car about 4k-5k miles a year, and none in the winter, so I dont think rust is something I'm going to have to deal with, so I think the Pacesetters would give me the power I want and since I dont drive the car that much, they'll last more than long enough for me.

Gears, headers, and LS6 intake are all happening very soon, within the next month or two. The heads and cam will be a late spring thing to get me ready for when the tracks open back up. I'm just wanting to have all my ducks in a row when it comes time to drop $2,000+ on heads, cam, and all the supporting stuff I need.

I dont drive mine unless its blue skys eather but i figured I get the stainless and forget about. Just my .02 but you might want to wait and do the intake and headers with the h/c because you will have to remove the intake and headers that you just put on to change the heads.

Good point. I might just do gears for now and just start collecting pieces for the H/C swap early next year. Sounds like a plan.

I am running uported LS6 heads and the Stealth 2 cam. Car dynoed at 411.6 RWHP in Houston in 93 degree heat with an A4 automatic and 3.42 gears. I am going to the track tonight to get some times. I like the combo. I am also running long tube headers. There is very little noticeable lope and after it was tuned, it is still very streetable ... nearly stock like driveability.

Love my Stage 2E's!

IMO, they are the best valued heads out there.

I wouldn't mind seeing the graph.

I also have the MTI 2es and for the money they are great. I would go a lil bigger with the cam though, like a TR224/114 or TSP225/114.

Ive got the SII cam with stock heads untuned and it did 390/372 so 411 with heads through an auto looks fair imo. If I keep the car I may look at picking up the MTI heads also.

Well I ran it last night at Steele AL. Stealth 2 cam and unported ls6 heads. It was 70 degrees and kind of foggy. Managed an 11.72@121MPH with a 1.74 60'. I think it
can get an 11.50 in good air and at sea level.

Wow, this definitely looks like the setup for me, even if I dont do heads. Even with just a cam there are some nice numbers out there. Thanks for confirming my confidence in my decision guys.
