There is a new cam out with more duration than the ASA and a more lift (2 choices one .550 ish and one .570ish) that you can run with .030 milled heads.. no fly cutting required that is insane..
Email me if you want more info..

As far as dyno number go, George Benson (2002nhraformula) dynoed his auto with a Yank 4400, CNC LS6 heads and the rest of the usual mods and made 410 hp and I forget the torque.
Imo I wouldnt look at dyno numbers to much. This is a cam that might not dyno very high but will run incredibly well.
If I wasnt interested in a solif lifter setup I this is the cam I would be running.

My driving habits havent changed much... with no tuning, you will have to feather the idle every now and then, because the car will want to die coming to a stop sometimes. My driving habits have changed a lot recently, however, because i just put in a RAM 6130/402 clutch... so everything has changed now. But i drove on a stock clutch for a while with the ASA and loved it. You'll learn to adapt quickly.

What do you guys think of the asa vs the tr 230 with the reverse split and 111 lsa. I know the tr makes great power and a killer lope. What I dont like is the high ramp rates that eat up springs and the sewing machine sound they make. The asa I am not real sure of the power gains. But the lower ramp rate makes me think it will be easier on the drive train and the springs would last longer.

the asa cam should be better on the springs, but will not make the power that the tr230 does... does anybody have any idea what the ASA cam would make with FULL bolt ons and tuning??

rtcamaross... sorry for all the questions, but i am really excited about this ASA cam. do you think that it will lope more then the hotcam??? i love the sound of the hotcam, and i LOVE LOVE LOVE lope ... lol... i hear about how you drove the car around with no tuning for a while and it was easy to adjust. is there ANYTHING that you had to do that wasnt normal for a cam install in order to get this cam to idle?? my main concern is that it will be too hard to drive in traffic in the summer. im pretty hardcore, so i dont mind some inconvience but i dont want to have a POS. i dont want it to die when i pull up to some of my friends when i get out and let the car idle... how does your car do- at stoplights? - at idle for a few minutes?
thanx!!!!

I had the GM hotcam before the ASA... I work at a speedshop here in the bay area called Synergy Motorsports, so ive been through a lot of cams. Anyway, the ASA is sooooo much louder than the hotcam. It lopes HARD. As far as what needs to be done to keep it idling... If you have a stock TB, i would suggest either drilling the hole in the TB or turning up the idle adjust screw til you get it where you want it. I have the BBK TB, so i dont have a hole to drill, i just turned up the idle screw.
When you first start driving it, while rolling with the clutch in, basically idling along, the idle with fluctuate alot. Sometimes it will almost die. Ive had mine die on me a few times. Ever since i turned up the idle screw a little, its been great... Doesnt die at all anymore... However, i will be getting it tuned soon, as i recommend to any of my customers.

what do you think you are going to set the idle to in order to get killer lope ( which i know you like ) and keep the car running good? i would like to dyno tune my car in the summer and was wondering what idle i should set it at... maybe 800 or 825??? what do you think?
thanx!
