When I start the car up every morning it makes a whinning sound that slowly goes away over about 10-15 minutes. I can hear it near the AC compressor and fan belt area, and when I turn the AC off it still does it so it's not the AC. When I start the car up later in the day there is no sound at all. Has anyone experienced this???

My car is a 2000 SS VERT with SLP Lid, bellows and MAF.

I have had a couple of expieriences with noises. The whining noise I had was coming from the idler pulley by the power steering pump. I had a catastrophic failure of the pulley coming home one night from work. The other noise was on my Girlfriends car and it was that new catch can that was making the noise. I don't remember the name of the catch can.

 

Anyone else had problems like this???
