Default Appx gains from heads/cam ?

With minimal bolt-ons like a catback and a CAI, what sort of gains should be expected from a cam like: 216/224 114lsa (future FI/N2O) and worked over 5.3 heads (bigger valves, better springs, 1.85:1 rockers)?

And, would it be smart to go with a 5.3 head, LS1 head, or an LS6 one?

Thanks

Well, I think you need to really think about what you want to do here. The 1.85 rocker arms a no-no with the fast ramp cams, so theyre out. Its like euchre, go big or go home. I spray 125 now and im putting in a lunati 224/224 on a 112lsa(for more lope). this cam is also really good for the juice as well. you could go with a reverse split cam like the one you mentioned, thats also good for the juice, but they arent as good on motor. you could always have your heads milled to raise the compression, but the 5.3 heads will work too. with a good port and polish job and the cam you listed and no headers id only guess that youd gain about 120-who knows because of the increase in compression. this is just my guess though...

I would put some LTs in at the same time as a head swap to save money.

What's bad about the 1.85:1 rockers?

5.3's = milled LS1's

LS6 = 64cc chambers

For FI I would get some 6.0 heads so you can drop your compression down to like 9.5:1.

If that acm is like .535/.545 you could run some 1.8 rockers.

I already have a set of 5.3 heads, I suppose that is why I wanna stick with those. But I am open to ideas of cost effectiveness.

What's the CC on a 6.0 aluminum head?

I already have a lower compression of 9.5:1 with the 5.3 heads on a 5.3. I figure the 6.0 heads will drop me really low...

Cam wise: I am looking to shift around 5800-6000rpm. 114lsa for a nice idle (I ran a 110lsa in a daily a while ago and it was a PITA).

Is there an advantage of running the 1.85:1 rockers?

Depends on where I am at...

Mansfield - Z71, WRX, C5.

Houston - F-150

I am doing some plotting on the 5.3 Z71. I am gonna go with some stall first so I can actually leave a light.

By the end of the summer I will have enough to do a heads/cam swap. I am mainly trying to decide on what heads to go with I have narrowed my choices down to: 5.3 heads or 6.0 aluminum heads.
