Cam question?

I'm pretty new to the LS1 stuff, but have been fooling with cars for years now. It's always been my understanding that you need to have supporting mods(good heads/exhaust) for a big nasty cam. However, in my browsing on here it seems everyone is saying that the bigger the cam the more power.
Do stock LS1 heads flow that well that they can take advantage of a .570-600" lift cam without and work done to them?

id say yeah because there are alot of people running those size cams in there cars. some guys are running the trex which has a lift of of atleast 610/612.
